The TablePlus plugin installation process depends on the plugin’s author.
Official plugins by TablePlus Inc
If the plugin was developed by the TablePlus Inc. team, then you should do the following to install a TablePlus plugin:
- Navigate to a menu
Plugin>Manage Plugins... - Click the “chevron down” icon next to the plugin you are interested in
- In the dropdown click the “Install” option
TablePlus team created a minimal number of first-party plugins, you can take a look at all of them on this page.
3rd-party plugins
Various developers created a lot more plugins for their personal or work-related needs. We try our best to find and monitor them, so we can update our database of TablePlus plugins.
Their installation is pretty much always a manual process. Some developers provide a special plugin file, others require you to build the plugin from the repository manually.
Most of the time developer outline this step in their README file, but we also reflect those steps in our own descriptions of the plugins.
How to uninstall the TablePlus plugins
All the plugins can be easily removed by simply using the UI option for each individual already installed plugin.
The difference between plugins by TablePlus Inc. and all 3rd-party plugins is that you can easily reinstall the official first-party plugins right from the same Plugin Manager window. Official plugins are always bundled with the app.
For all 3rd parties – the plugin file is deleted from the filesystem, so you will need to follow the installation steps again to reinstall it if needed later.
You also have an option to manually remove the plugin by deleting the plugin directory from the TablePlus plugins directory. This path may be different depending on how you purchased TablePlus.
